What is CBP One and can it help me or my relatives in Mexico?

Writer: Bennett & HarkerBennett & Harker

CBP One is a free mobile application, created by the U.S. government. People in Mexico who wish to enter the U.S. at the southern border can use the app to apply for a number of benefits, including parole into the U.S. The app can also be used to schedule appointments with Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) at the southern border.

CBP is encouraging individuals at the southern border to use the app to determine whether they may be allowed to enter the U.S., schedule interviews and other appointments, and upload photos and other documents. CPB can also send you information through the app, to let you know if an appointment is available or if your request has been approved.

Immigrants who use the CBP One app to apply for entry into the U.S. can also apply for a work permit once they’ve been allowed to enter the U.S. as parolees. In many cases, this allows immigrants to obtain a work permit much sooner that they would be able to if they enter the U.S. through other means, or without documents.

If you entered the U.S. after applying through the CBP One app, or if you have family members at the southern border who are interested in applying for parole into the U.S. through the CBP One app, the attorneys at Bennett & Harker can help explain the process and benefits available for immigrants who use it.
