Work Permits Extended under Temporary Protected Status for El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, and Sudan

USCIS announced that it is extending work permits for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries from El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan. Those affected will receive a Form I-797 about the extension. The extension is valid through March 9, 2025.

IMPORTANT: to keep TPS benefits, current TPS beneficiaries under one of the designated countries who have not re-registered for TPS under the most recent extension must submit a Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status. The re-registration periods for the five designated countries end on different dates:

·       El Salvador runs through March 9, 2025;

·       Honduras runs through July 5, 2025;

·       Nepal runs through June 24, 2025;

·       Nicaragua runs through July 5, 2025; and

·       Sudan runs through April 19, 2025.

If you are a current TPS beneficiary under one of these designated countries, feel free to contact Bennett & Harker for assistance with submitting your Form I-821.
